Classic Slasher Poster For Short Film '318'

bloody disgusting - Mon, 02/06/2012 - 15:23
It's a slow news day so here's a plug for Claus Reinhold's Danish short film 318, which we've also landed a pretty sweet one-sheet for. "In an old apartment building in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a middle-aged janitor one day discovers an empty storage room which houses a kind of evil that drives him farther and farther out." Even though it's a Danish film, it's in English and takes place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Gert Rasmussen and Randall Rose star. Go behind-the-scenes on Facebook.

Trailer For Lance Henriksen Starrer 'It's In The Blood'

bloody disgusting - Mon, 02/06/2012 - 15:15
Lance Henriksen, Sean Elliot, Rose Sirna, and Jimmy Gonzalez will all star in Sean Elliot & Scooter Downey's It's In The Blood, a new indie that's now got a trailer and official website. "When a father and son become stranded in the wild, they must confront the horrors of their past to escape with their lives." The site writes: "'It's In the Blood' is a wholly unique cinematic movement. At its core a father-son story, the film is a deconstruction of the prototypical "creature feature", incorporating elements of mystical realism and psychological thriller. We call it a Psyche-Saga. Lance Henriksen stars in this nightmarish descent into the Wilderness, the very heart of darkness where more than your guilt can eat you alive."

Watch All 3 'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance 3D' Big Game TV Spots

bloody disgusting - Mon, 02/06/2012 - 15:04
After airing during the Super Bowl last night, we've now added a trio of "Big Game" TV Spots for Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor's Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance 3D, which Columbia Pictures will release in a rash of negativity on February 17. "It has been several years since making a deal with the Devil and Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage), living in self-imposed isolation, finds himself as the only person who can help save 10-year-old Danny and ultimately the world thanks to his unwanted and uncontrollable power his ability to transform into the hell-on-wheels monster known as The Ghost Rider." While the reviews have been harsh, everything I've seen so far looks cool as hell.

bloody disgusting - Mon, 02/06/2012 - 12:23
This morning Filmax provided Bloody Disgusting with a brand new bloody look at Paco Plaza's [REC]3 Genesis, which will open in Spain on March 30. Click the image above for the entire image gallery! While the film will take the festival route over 2012, Sony Pictures once again owns home video rights, which once again means that won't be seeing this on Blu-ray (this news totally sucks considering [REC]3 is the first to break out of the found footage mold) -- although we will get it in HD on VOD (close, but no cigar). "Koldo and Clara are about to celebrate the most important day of their lives: their wedding. Everything appears to be running smoothly and the bride and groom and their families are enjoying a wonderful day; that is until some of the guests start showing signs of a strange illness. Before they know whats happening, the bride and groom find themselves in the middle of a hellish ordeal, as an uncontrollable torrent of violence is unleashed on the wedding. Amidst the chaos, Koldo and Clara become separated and begin a desperate search for one another. What started off as an idyllic day quickly descends into a nightmare of the worst kind…"

Selena Gomez, Eli Roth Star in Earthquake Thriller 'Aftershock'

bloody disgusting - Mon, 02/06/2012 - 12:05
Deadline reports that multiple offers are on the table for Aftershock, an earthquake thriller scripted by Cabin Fever and Hostel's Eli Roth, Nicolas Lopez & Guillermo Amoedo. The plot revolves around an insane asylum on an island, where the inmates escape during the quake. Several distributors are in talks, with the Weinstein Company and Relativity Media among them. The dealmaking will likely take place in Berlin. Its the next "Eli Roth Presents" film, and it marks the English-language debut from director Nicolas Lopez. His last two films, Que Pena Tu Vida and Que Pena Tu Boda, were the highest-grossing Chilean films of 2010 and 2011. Roth most recently produced The Last Exorcism, a microbudget film that grossed $70 million worldwide. Roth and Lopez wrote the story together, inspired by the latters experience when an earthquake devastated Chile in 2010. The film is four weeks into production in Chile. In his first big acting role since Inglourious Basterds, Roth plays the lead. Among the other cast is Selena Gomez, who was in Chile doing a concert and came over to do a cameo. Lopezs frequent collaborators Ariel Levy, Nicolas Martinez and Lorenza Izzo also star, along with Natasha Yarovenko, Andrea Osvart and Miguel Asensio.

'Paranormal' Producer Inks Multi Year Deal With eOne

bloody disgusting - Mon, 02/06/2012 - 11:59
Independent studio Entertainment One (eOne) has entered into a multi-year film and television production pact with ROOM 101, Inc. partners Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity 1, 2 & 3, Insidious, The Devil Inside) and Adi Shankar (The Grey). Under the terms of the deal, ROOM 101 will deliver on average two premium micro-budget genre titles annually to eOne. The projects will be high-concept and filmmaker-driven, and will encompass both acquisitions and original productions. eOne will finance, co-produce, and distribute globally, with the exception of the United States where distribution will be handled on a per-project basis. It is unknown how many of these will be genre based, but it's safe to assume there's a bunch of new horror on the way.

RIP Bill Hinzman

bloody disgusting - Sun, 02/05/2012 - 23:44
Bill Hinzman, the first zombie to lumber across the screen in George A. Romero's Night Of The Living Dead, has sadly passed away. Details are slim right now, but it's reported that he succumbed to cancer. Check back here for any updates. I never get really sentimental when people in the film world leave us, but I've met Bill numerous times over the last decade. He was a regular at the Spooky Empire horror convention in Orlando, FL and kicked off the annual zombie walk almost every year that I went. He was always a cool guy, hanging out at the pool with everyone as the festival started winding down for the evening, and I never saw him turn down a fan for a quick photo in the hallway, an autograph, or even an interview. He was in several early Romero films - he even DPed The Crazies - but his first scene in Night would set the precedent for the undead in one of the most well-known and highly regarded trilogies in horror history (I count Land as the start of a new one). RIP Bill Hinzman, THE FIRST ROMERO ZOMBIE.

[Script To Scream]: Gerald Dies And Gizmo Becomes A Butterfly In 'Gremlins'!

bloody disgusting - Sun, 02/05/2012 - 18:25
A film lives many lives before it ever hits the screen. The script is usually revised multiple times before a single foot of film is exposed (or the digital equivalent thereof). Im not just talking about smaller stuff like dialogue polishes and the addition or deletion of scenes. Many times the core story is reworked in profound ways. Sometimes its downright shocking how different the final film can be from the initial drafts. In this new (semi-regular) feature for Bloody-Disgusting, Im going to take a look at some early drafts of scripts for horror films that you may have already seen and discuss the differences, whether they took a turn for the worse, better or just different. There are also a handful of scripts for sequels and remakes that never happened that are worth checking out - just to see what might have been. These arent script reviews, and only rarely will I be breaking the stories down on a beat-by-beat basis. Im just going to point out some cool, interesting and/or disastrous choices that happened along the way. Each installment will be different, and each installment will be fun. Ill also be including sample pages (when available)* so you dont have to take my word for it! *This applies only to older and previously released films that are already part of the culture. We're not in the business of leaking or sabotaging projects in development. First up is Joe Dantes Gremlins, written by Chris Columbus. Hit the jump to check it out!

'Social Network' Meets '[REC]3 Genesis'

bloody disgusting - Sun, 02/05/2012 - 18:22
I'm crazy excited for Paco Plaza's REC 3: Genesis, which is why there just isn't enough news to keep me satisfied. In fact, it's been a bit too quiet (I can only assume it's going to premiere at TIFF this coming September). So just to keep the title in the news, two new posters have begun internet circulation, one of which is 100% fan-made. The fan-designed version is a take on The Social Network one-sheet that exclaims, "You don't get a perfect wedding without killing a few zombies." Pure gold. The other is said to be a cell phone snap of a new teaser that adds a chainsaw to the madness. We have not confirmed its validity...It's just something pretty to look at. "Koldo and Clara are about to celebrate the most important day of their lives: their wedding. Everything appears to be running smoothly and the bride and groom and their families are enjoying a wonderful day; that is until some of the guests start showing signs of a strange illness. bloody disgusting - Sun, 02/05/2012 - 18:06
This coming Tuesday, February 7th will see the premiere of ABC's "The River", a new series from Paranormal Activity creator Oren Peli. "The River"'s 8-episode Season 1 is teased with the following new on air promo that shows the audience's reaction to the horror series. The audience reaction trailers are a bit played out IMO. "Famed explorer Dr. Emmet Cole (Greenwood) went looking for magic deep in the uncharted Amazon and never returned. The shocking truth about his disappearance is out there, somewhere, just waiting to be discovered. To the millions of kids who grew up watching his nature show, Dr. Cole was a hero. [Blu-ray Review] 'The Human Centipede Part 2: Full Sequence'

bloody disgusting - Sun, 02/05/2012 - 16:14
Original Review From Fantastic Fest 11

Despite being shown in theatres, its hard to actually classify The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence as a film. Like Faces of Death, its a collection of increasingly gross ideas strung together, specifically designed to push buttons and offend with the added bonus of having something that barely passes as a narrative woven between them. When viewed in that light, its admirable how committed director Tom Six is to his vision and how uncompromised it feels, but as he explained during a post-screening Q&A, its basically a bunch of leftover ideas that he couldnt fit in the first time around. The explanation makes sense, but it certainly doesnt setup the context for why these events are occurring or what Six is attempting to comment on with his grotesque display of medical inaccuracies.

bloody disgusting - Sat, 02/04/2012 - 21:44
Already featured in magazines, below you'll now find a clean look at Noomi Rapace and Logan Marshall-Green in Twentieth Century Fox's Prometheus. The duo apparently have oxygen and are standing in front of some alien writing. I believe it says, "This is not a prequel to Alien, but actually, it is." Just a wild guess. On June 8 Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define. With Prometheus, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race. It'll be presented in real 3-D.

If she wins, the Lambrick Foundation will find a donor for her brother and pay for the rest of his treatment. Iris accepts the invitation. When she arrives, she meets her fellow opponents all desperate individuals with their own tragic stories, each hoping to find salvation through Shepard Lambrick¹s game of Would You Rather.
