  • San Diego, CA – July 25th and 26th at Petco Park surrounding Comic-Con 2014
  • Miami, FL – October 25th at Sun Life Stadium

Dates TBD at the following locations:

Even cooler? From now until July 4th, there's a special EARLY BIRD rate for tickets:

  • Spectator: $20

Additional tour dates will be announced in the near future. Tickets can be purchased via The Walking Dead Escape website or on Tickets.com as part of a marketing partnership with Tickets.com.

After its successful 2012 debut at San Diego’s Petco Park, The Walking Dead Escape expanded with three additional events in major cities in 2013, including New York, where the course was integrated aboard the aircraft carrier the USS Intrepid. Based on fans’ enthusiastic response, Skybound decided to take the events to the next level with a national tour.

I’m thrilled to offer fans new and old an even bigger, more interactive experience this time around. It's great to see fans of the comic book and television series live in the world I created so many years ago,” says Robert Kirkman, creator and executive producer of The Walking Dead.

The course, which has already thrilled tens of thousands of participants since its debut, allows fans to participate as “Walkers" or “Survivors" as they climb, crawl, and slide their way through various zombie-infected evacuation zones. Those lucky enough to make it to the decontamination zone will have their level of infection assessed and then participate in the event’s Fan Experience.

Those participating as Walkers will be transformed into the undead by professional makeup artists, and they'll receive “zombie training” prior to their release on the course. Keeping in the spirit of entertainment and accessibility to all, The Walking Dead Escape is not a race, and its participants will not be timed or required to run.

What Would You Like to See from ‘Doom 4′?

    bloody disgusting - Mon, 06/16/2014 - 16:38

Our patience finally paid off last week with the long-awaited reveal of Doom 4. The game was teased through a creepy CG trailer, sans any gameplay footage, but I’m sure that decision was made so we’d all tune into its full reveal at QuakeCon next month. AAA horror has lost much of its appeal lately, as a few of our favorite horror franchises — Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Dead Space — have all managed to disappoint with their latest installments.

So with that in mind, what would you like to see from Doom 4? What would make you excited to play it? Let’s chat about it in the comments below.

Only Lovers Left Alive Dated for Home Video

    Dread Central - Mon, 06/16/2014 - 15:23

If you're anything like me, you've been wondering when you're going to be able to see Jim Jarmusch's vampire flick Only Lovers Left Alive (review), which has to date only been given a limited theatrical release. That all changes this August, when the bloodsuckers come home. Read on for release details!

    From the Press Release
Sony Pictures Classics’ visually poetic love story from director Jim Jarmusch (Broken Flowers), ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE, will debut on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD August 19 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

The film is the apotheosis of American independent film and underground music, full of Jarmusch’s laconic sense of humor. ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE stars Oscar winner Tilda Swinton (Michael Clayton, 2008, Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role) and Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers) alongside co-stars Mia Wasikowska (Lawless), Anton Yelchin (Star Trek Into Darkness), and John Hurt (Harry Potter).

Set against the romantic desolation of Detroit and Tangier, this critically well received fan favorite puts an original spin on a well-worn genre – these vampires are mature, highbrow, and charmingly ultra-cool. ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE was selected for official competition at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival and enjoyed critical acclaim at various film festivals worldwide, including the Toronto International Film Festival, SXSW, and New York Film Festival. It was also chosen as an official selection at this year's Sundance Film Festival.

Special features on the film’s Blu-ray and DVD release include never-before-seen deleted and extended scenes as well as an extended version of Yasmine Hamdan performing "Hal." Also included is the “Traveling at Night with Jim Jarmusch” documentary, taking fans behind the scenes for a portrait of the director at work on his latest film.

    Synopsis:
Only Lovers Left Alive is the tale of two fragile and sensitive vampires, Adam (Hiddleston) and Eve (Swinton). Both are cultured intellectuals with an all-embracing passion for music, literature, and science, who have evolved to a level where they no longer kill for sustenance but still retain their innate wildness. Their love story has endured several centuries, but their debauched idyll is threatened by the uninvited arrival of Eve’s carefree little sister, Ava (Wasikowska), who hasn’t yet learned to tame her wilder instincts. Driven by sensual photography, trance-like music, and droll humor, Jarmusch’s Only Lovers Left Alive is a meditation on art, science, and the mysteries of everlasting love.

    Special Features

  • "Traveling at Night with Jim Jarmusch" -- A portrait of director Jim Jarmusch at work on the set of his latest film, Only Lovers Left Alive
  • Deleted and Extended Scenes

Adult Film Star Channon Rose Gets Possessed on Camera in This Isn't a Movie

    Dread Central - Mon, 06/16/2014 - 15:01

Adult film star Channon Rose has dealt with lots of sticky substances over her career, but we don't think ectoplasm was on her agenda. In any event, Ms. Rose apparently suffered a bout of possession that was caught on film!

    From the Press Release
Linda Blair’s head-rotating, pea soup-vomiting portrayal of demonic possession is the stuff of movie legend, but the events that form the basis of The Exorcist and the book of the same name were actually inspired by a month-long demon-purging over a young boy in 1949.

Whether you believe in possessions—demon or otherwise—or not, they have been around since ancient times, and so has our fascination with them and the exorcisms that cast these demons, imagined or real, back into the darkness they came from.

Imagine a movie with all of the ingredients that has made Paranormal Activity a five-time box office success, that spooky “home footage” allure of witnessing a possession unfold, only far more frightening because This Isn’t A Movie is the real deal. It is the unplanned, unscripted, raw footage of a real life possession, exactly as it occurred.

Channon Rose and Travis Dean aren’t filmmakers or seeking fame via a pseudo reality show. Channon is a beautiful print model with her own beauty blog; Travis comes from the corporate world with an 8-5 job. Since the beginning of their relationship in 2012, they’ve been capturing their good times and getaways on Channon’s handheld camera, and their trip to Big Bear started out like all the rest: fun, silly, and lighthearted. But something unexplained happened to Channon, unleashing a nightmarish experience and a home movie they’ll never forget.

The question most people will ask is: How do we know it’s real? According to Channon, “It’s pretty obvious from the minute you start watching that this is something real. The whole experience was pretty terrifyingm and the only way to describe it is a possession of some kind.”

Travis adds, “Imagine seeing someone you know and love acting so strange and eerie with no explanation or ability to help them. Seeing Channon literally banging her head against the wall of our cabin hard enough to really hurt herself; she kept answering the front door of our secluded cabin, and of course, nobody was ever there. What freaked me out the most was when she completely disappeared and I ended up finding her in the woods with no idea of how she ended up there. That’s when I drove her to the emergency room.”

This Isn’t A Movie invites viewers to explore what an actual possession is—what it looks like up-close, unedited, and without Hollywood’s special effects. It is a scary journey because it is real. There are no actors going home at the end of the day... just a couple who never imagined this could happen to them.

    Happy 25th Anniversary ‘Ghostbusters II’!

    bloody disgusting - Mon, 06/16/2014 - 14:47

25 years ago today I sat alone in an empty theater – as a nine-year-old boy – watching Ivan Reitman’s Ghostbusters II.

Thus, we’re celebrating the 25th anniversary of the sequel to the smash-hit horror comedy that starred Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver.

In it, the discovery of a massive river of ectoplasm and a resurgence of spectral activity allows the staff of Ghostbusters to revive the business.

The sequel, which critics weren’t fond of, was still a success taking in $215M worldwide at the box office. A third film should have happened by now, yet we sit here waiting like a bunch of jackasses. I have my proton pack on and ready to go. Sony, what’s up?!

In ‘Monstrum’, No Hiding Spot is Good Enough

    bloody disgusting - Mon, 06/16/2014 - 14:44

Indie developer Team Junkfish is currently working on their first foray into the horror genre with Monstrum, a procedurally generated horror game where you’re chased all over a creepy, derelict ship by what resembles the fiery offspring of a Big Daddy and William Birkin.

Much like in Outlast and Slender, you’re completely unarmed, so the only option when ole Jack-o-Lantern Face is near is to run, hide, and desperately hope he doesn’t use his freakishly huge arm to drag you kicking and screaming from your chosen hiding spot.

I recently had the opportunity to dive into the Monstrum alpha, watch me spend some time with it below.

Trip Out to ‘Only Lovers Left Alive’ On Home Video

    bloody disgusting - Mon, 06/16/2014 - 14:28

Sony Pictures Classics’ visually poetic love story from Director
Jim Jarmusch (Broken Flowers), Only Lovers Left Alive, will debut on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD August 19 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Ryan Daley liked, but didn’t love the film. Evan Dickson more so agreed with me.

The film is the apotheosis of American independent film and underground music, full of Jarmusch’s laconic sense of humor. Only Lovers Left Alive stars Oscar winner Tilda Swinton (Michael Clayton, Constantine) and Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers), alongside co-stars Mia Wasikowska (Lawless), Anton Yelchin (Star Trek Into Darkness) and John Hurt (Harry Potter).

Set against the romantic desolation of Detroit and Tangier,
this critically well-received fan-favorite puts an original spin on a well-worn genre – these vampires are mature, highbrow and charmingly ultra-cool. Only Lovers Left Alive was selected for official competition at
the 2013 Cannes Film Festival and enjoyed critical acclaim at various film festivals worldwide, including the Toronto International Film Festival, SXSW, and New York Film Festival. It was also chosen as an official selection at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

Special features on the film’s Blu-ray and DVD release include never-before-seen deleted and extended scenes,
as well as an extended version of Yasmine Hamdan performing “Hal.” Also included is the “Traveling at Night with Jim Jarmusch” documentary, taking fans behind the scenes for a portrait of the director at work on his latest film.

“Only Lovers Left Alive is the tale of two fragile and sensitive vampires, Adam (Hiddleston) and Eve (Swinton). Both are cultured intellectuals with an all-embracing passion for music, literature and science, who have evolved to a level where they no longer kill for sustenance, but still retain their innate wildness. Their love story has endured several centuries but their debauched idyll is threatened by the uninvited arrival of Eve’s carefree little sister Ava (Wasikowska) who hasn’t yet learned to tame her wilder instincts. Driven by sensual photography, trance-like music, and droll humor, Jarmusch’s Only Lovers Left Alive is a meditation on art, science, and the mysteries of everlasting love.

A Very ‘Batman’-esque Poster For ‘Dracula Untold’

    bloody disgusting - Mon, 06/16/2014 - 14:20

    Every bloodline has a beginning…

Universal Pictures just sent us a second one-sheet from Dracula Untold (formerly Dracula: Year Zero), the Gary Shore-directed version of Bram Stoker’s novella, in theaters October 17, 2013.

Starring Luke Evans, Sarah Gadon, Dominic Cooper, Zach McGowan, Samantha Barks, Thor Kristjansson and Art Parkinson, the film was shot in Belfast last year.

In the film, “Luke Evans is starring as the most famous of vampires in an origin story that sees a Transylvanian prince risk eternal damnation in order to save his wife and son from a Turkish horde. Barks will play a figure in Eastern European folk tales known as a baba yaga, a beautiful young woman who turns into a savage witch. Kristjansson will play Bright Eyes, an Eastern European taken as a slave as a young boy and now a vicious assassin in the Ottoman Army. Parkinson will play Dracula’s son, named Ingeras.

The new poster reminds me of the work done for Warner Bros. Batman trilogy, although it works well for this as Dracula, too, is associated with bats.
