'Cult County' Developer Wants To "Disturb And Scare" You

bloody disgusting - Tue, 03/04/2014 - 16:59

With their next project, the Nintendo 3DS exclusive survival horror game Cult County, indie developer Renegade Kid aims to “disturb and scare the players” by not holding back in terms of mature content. This comes from a recent chat with Siliconera, where co-founder Jools Watsham shed a bit more light on the upcoming game.

Cult County was revealed at PAX East last year. It’s not due to release on the 3DS’s eShop until sometime in 2015.

This won’t be Renegade Kid’s first foray into our favorite genre. They also developed the Dementium series, as well as the atmospheric shooter, Moon.

According to Watsham, Cult County will be less like Moon and “more along the lines of Dementium but with a stronger emphasis on story and characters.” That sounds like my kind of game. Now I all I have to do is give in and buy a 3DS.

On a related note, we played through some of Dementium II HD, ported by Memetic Games, in our 13 Days of Horror series last October. It’s a neat, old school survival horror game, even if its “HD remaster” leaves a lot to be desired.

First 'Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence)' Image Crawls In!!!!

bloody disgusting - Tue, 03/04/2014 - 16:55

I liked Tom Six’s Frankenstein-esque The Human Centipede, but I absolutely loved his sequel, Full Sequence.

Many people didn’t understand that the sequel was a response to the criticism of the first film, which has become part of pop culture, and is thus HILARIOUS.

With that, I cannot contain my excitement for Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence), which is said to take place in a prison with a 500+ centipede!

EW landed the first image confirming the prison location, while also displaying our first looks at Dieter Laser and Laurence R. Harvey, who played the villains Dr. Heiter and Martin in the first and second films, respectively.

Dieter Laser and Laurence R. Harvey play very different characters that will put Dr. Heiter and Martin in the shade,” Six tells the mag. “They are both brilliant actors with their own style. Laurence played a mute in Part 2; now he is a smart guy with a whole lot of dialog. Dieter played a cold, restrained doctor in Part 1; now he is a loud, racist, sadistic a–hole. Robert Lasardo plays a very cool, daring part, and I gave ex-porn star Bree Olson her first break as a serious actress, and she does one hell of a job. I play ‘Tom Six’ in the movie, which is an Oscar nomination performance.

“THC Part 3 will be totally different from Parts 1 and 2 and certainly not as gross,” Six continues about the film’s plot, “But it will be the most controversial one politically-wise. It will have a lot of self-mockery and will be the most darkly comical of the three. Parts 1 and 2 have a very European feel. Part 3 is very American with the highest budget, a big movie score, widescreen, and an XXL human centipede. It’s set in an American maximum security prison in the middle of the desert…

Six also confirms said 500-person centipede, which is achieved without any serious effects work! “By having a lot of brave American extras and doing it the megalomanic way like they did in ‘Spartacus,’ ” Six says. “F— CGI-created things.

The American finale, also starring Six Eric Roberts, Robert LaSardo, Tommy Lister, Bree Olson, Abraham Rubio and William Guirola, will be 100% politically incorrect.

One of the many amazing reissues that One Way Static Records has coming up is the 1981 film Cannibal Ferox (aka Make Them Die Slowly), which was directed by Umberto Lenzi and banned in 31 countries upon release for being one of the most violent films of its time. 'Cthulhudad' Takes Us To The Mountains Of Dadness

bloody disgusting - Tue, 03/04/2014 - 16:14

I haven’t played Octodad, but that’s only because I’ve been waiting for something a bit more Lovecraftian. In it, you play as an octopus who has disguised himself as a person by wearing people clothes and doing people things. Your goal is to not let the peoplefolk know you’re not entirely human.

I’m guessing Cthulhudad — totally not a real game, though it really should be — would take a similar approach, only with more ritual sacrifices, death, pain, and aguish — you know, all the things Cthulhu likely requires for nourishment.

bloody disgusting - Tue, 03/04/2014 - 16:07

Bloody reader ‘Dan Polydoris’ got creative and designed his own custom vintage-style set of Mego figures based on John Carpenter’s Halloween!

[The Michael] Myers is just Captain Kirk with a white face and new hair,” he explains on his blog. “He’s wearing a ‘Planet of the Apes’ Astronaut outfit without the zipper. [Dr.] Loomis is just Boss Hogg with a goatee and a slight haircut (in the back). His trench coat is a modified Barbie trench made for 12″ figures.

I also made a Laurie figure (she’s pictured on the side of the box), but she ended up looking too shitty even for the internet to see,” he jokingly adds. “So, she’ll remain safely bound and gagged in the back of my closet.

Michael Myers construction:
Captain Kirk head
Type 2 body
Soldier Ape boots from Planet of the Apes
Astronaut suit from Planet of the Apes (zipper removed)
Modified scimitar from Azeem (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves) for the knife

[Random Cool] Have 20 Terrifying Two-Sentence Stories

bloody disgusting - Tue, 03/04/2014 - 14:24

It’s amazing how a few words, when put in a particular order, can conjure up the most terrifying images in my head. If I read the right book or story before I think of heading to sleep, there goes my night. I’ll be up for hours, wide-eyed, twitching and jumping at the smallest creak in the floor. That’s what a good horror story can do to me.

That’s why I had to put together these two galleries of two-sentence stories that can easily burrow their way under your skin and proceed to rake their bony fingers up and down your spine. Read them below…….if you dare.

Linkin Park Posts Clip Of New Song And, Dare I Say It, It Sounds Good?!

bloody disgusting - Tue, 03/04/2014 - 00:33

Electronic rock band Linkin Park has released a short in-studio video (probably filmed on a cellphone) that features a clip of new music. From the very short clip, it actually sounds pretty intense. It’s definitely heavier than the vast majority of songs the band has released over the last several years. Head on down to give it a listen.

In the clip, there is a brief moment where guitarist Brad Delson has a yellow pad in front of him that has the words “The Hunting Party” written on it. It also has the numbers “6 14″. It’s easy to speculate that “The Hunting Party” could be the name of the album. However June 14th is a hard sell on a release date as that falls on a Saturday and albums almost always are released on Tuesdays.

The band’s last studio release was 2012′s Living Things, which I was not a fan of. You can read my review here.
