"I can't quit you, Batman," says the Joker, as he plants one tonsils-deep on the caped crusader.
With the announcement that Brokeback Mountain star, Heath Ledger, has officially been cast as The Joker in 2008's THE DARK KNIGHT, I'm fairly certain we'll see that same joke a million times on forums across the web. Thing is, this is really good casting, if only for the fact that it nets the production another Academy Award alumnist (to join Michael Caine) to boast about in the credits.
Of course, Ledger's been in loads of films, like The Patriot, Lords of Dogtown, and First Knight, but no one remembers any of them. A role as the iconic Joker just may save him from forever being known as "that guy from the gay cowboy movie" as my friend who informed me of this news so eloquently stated.
In the spirit of not taking Heath Ledger seriously, the picture on the right was the first result I found when I did an image search for him. I added the Chihuahua.
