Ain't it Cool News reports that George Romero will be writing and directing a flick called SOLITARY ISLE based on Ring/Dark Water scribe, Koji Suzuki's short story that centers on a group of explorers visiting an uncharted island and fending off some sort of otherworldly foe.

I'm doubting there will be zombies, and, let's face it, zombies are what Romero does best, but I'm always down for a little uncharted island action, especially when it involves otherworldly foes.
