Orgazmo
(2003)
review by Catwalk
Ok, so we all know that South Park made the scene and was absolutely hilarious for a number of years. We also know that Trey Parker and Matt Stone, its creators, filmed a ton of stuff outside of South Park. Yeah, Baseketball was weak, but Parker and Stone’s other efforts have been outrageously funny. Team America: World Police features puppet-on-puppet sex, Cannibal! The Musical was a comedic telling of a prospector who ate his fellow travelers, and Orgazmo features some of the most quotable lines since Spaceballs.
Joe Young (Parker) is a mormon performing his mission work when he interrupts filming of a super hero porno. Young quickly dispatches the director’s goons with karate, and takes over the lead role in the porno because his girlfriend wants to get married in the temple. Young, of course, can’t participate in the sex acts, so the shout of “Stunt Cock” is peppered throughout the film. As the super hero Orgazmo, he fights crime with a ray gun that makes people experience blinding orgasms. With his sidekick, Choda Boy (Bachar), they take the fight to the streets and become real super heroes.
Sound far-fetched and ridiculous? Well, it is. For a movie about the porn world, there isn’t an ounce of nudity other than naked male asses, but some great sexual humor. Stone cameos as the lighting guy, Dave, with such great lines as “I don’t want to sound like a queer or nothin’, but I think Depeche Mode is a really sweet band.” Funny enough, but when he’s comparing a naked mariachi band to Depeche Mode, the scene really scores.
Cameos include Ron Jeremy, Jill Kelly, Chasey Lain, Juli Ashton, Serenity and Jeanna Fine, though this would be the only role in which none of them got naked.
From its opening scene where an elderly woman calls the mormons “soul-soliciting pigfuckers” to the DVDA scene, to Parker under a 400 pound woman (with a very Cartman-like voice over), Orgazmo is ridiculous on so many levels.
Orgazmo delivers the kind of humor that stoners, drunks and teenagers could appreciate on every level. Any semblance of seriousness is chucked within the first few minutes, and the 92 minute ride is just a rollercoaster of craziness.
