Small Bug ‘Bite’ Becomes ‘The Fly’ Homage (Trailer)

bloody disgusting - Wed, 07/08/2015 - 11:21

On the heels of the official poster comes the first trailer for Bite, in which a bride becomes an insect in the vein of The Fly.

Breakthrough Entertainment is behind Chad Archibald’s (The Drownsman) indie horror starring Elma Begovic, Annette Wozniak, and Jordan Gray.

While on her bachelorette party getaway, Casey, the bride to be, gets a seemingly harmless bite from an unknown insect. After returning home with cold feet, Casey tries to call off her wedding but before she’s able to, she starts exhibiting insect like traits. Between her physical transformation and her wedding anxiety, Casey succumbs to her new instincts and begins creating a hive that not only houses her translucent eggs, but feeds on the flesh of others. As her transformation becomes complete, Casey discovers that everything can change with a single bite.

For whatever reason this reminds me of a mix between Meet the Applegates and The Fly, which is pretty cool.

Powder Slut’s “Symphony Of Purgatory” Video Is Meant For Horror Fans

bloody disgusting - Wed, 07/08/2015 - 11:00

Retrosynth artist Powder Slut has released a new track titled “Symphony Of Purgatory” and it’s a moody, dark piece of electronica that I highly recommend giving a few minutes of your time.

To celebrate this release, a music video was made by Jean-Pierre Van Damme that takes footage from Night Of The Demons, Return Of The Living Dead, and, one of my favorite horror films, Lord Of Illusions, compiling them all into a series of images that highlight the dancier aspects of the song while still embracing the darker side of things.

Quick head’s up: The video is definitely NSFW as it features the scene from Return Of The Living Dead where Linnea Quigley dances naked atop a tomb.

The song is also available as a free download via the Soundcloud player below.

International Posters For ‘The Visit’ and ‘The Vatican Tapes’ Released

bloody disgusting - Wed, 07/08/2015 - 10:13

A pair of international posters for M. Night Shyamalan’s The Visit and Mark Neveldine’s The Vatican Tapes have arrived, the former from Japan and the latter from France. Both are pretty text heavy and don’t offer much in the way of new imagery but it’s rather fun to see how posters are organized in other countries.

The synopsis for The Visit reads:

Shyamalan returns to his roots with the terrifying story of a brother and sister who are sent to their grandparents’ remote Pennsylvania farm for a weeklong trip. Once the children discover that the elderly couple is involved in something deeply disturbing, they see their chances of getting back home are growing smaller every day.

The Vatican Tapes…:

…follows the ultimate battle between good and evil- God versus Satan. Angela Holmes is an ordinary 27-year- old until she begins to have a devastating effect on anyone close, causing serious injury and death. Holmes is examined and possession is suspected, but when the Vatican is called upon to exorcise the demon, the possession proves to be an ancient satanic force more powerful than ever imagined. It’s all up to Father Lozano (Michael Pena) to wage war for more than just Angela’s soul, but for the world as we know it.

Rick’s “The Walking Dead” Crossroads #SDCC

bloody disgusting - Wed, 07/08/2015 - 10:00

A new image from the sixth season of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” was shared over at EW with new details.

The pic shows Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes “at a crossroads in his life … and judging by the photo above, that crossroads happens to be the intersection of Marshall and Redding.”

Adds the site: “A few interesting things to note in this picture: For one thing, Rick appears to have ditched his constable uniform that Deanna gave him when he arrived at the walled-off community. Did he shoot that up the same way he shot up Pete? Or perhaps they have casual Friday in Alexandria? Also, what’s in the truck: supplies? Dead bodies? Rick’s constable uniform?”

It’s also implied that season 6 picks up right after the last left off.

All the goodies are coming when the season 6 trailer debuts at AMC’s San Diego Comic-Con panel on July 10.

[FrightFest] ‘Landmine Goes Click’ Trailer

bloody disgusting - Wed, 07/08/2015 - 09:54

Landmine Goes Click, starring Sterling Knight (“Melissa & Joey”), Spencer Locke (Resident Evil) and Dean Geyer (“Glee”) will make its London premiere as part of the selection at Film4 Frightfest in August.

Three American tourists are backpacking through the remote countryside of European Georgia when one of them steps on an armed landmine. But that seems to be a minor threat compared to the nightmarish happenings the rest of the afternoon will bring on. A psychopath takes advantage of the tourist’s immobility and brutally assaults the woman he loves.

Landmine Goes Click is directed and produced by Georgia native Levan Bakhia who made his feature film directorial debut with the thriller 247 F starring Scout Taylor-Compton. The script for Landmine Goes Click is written by Adrian Colussi.

Landmine Goes Click plays at Frightfest 2015 on Friday 28th August.
