Sound the horns and prepare thyself for a most glorious tale of battling knights, spell-casting wizards, fair maidens, and one bloodthirsty demon from the netherworld in KNIGHTS OF BADASSOM.
Starring Peter Dinklage ("Game of Thrones," The Station Agent), Steve Zahn ("Treme," Dallas Buyers Club), Ryan Kwanten ("True Blood," Dead Silence), and Summer Glau ("Arrow," "Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles"), this 2014 theatrical release called "a blast and a half" (Max Nicholson, IGN) marches onto extras-loaded DVD and Blu-ray editions on April 1 from Entertainment One. Cans't thou handle it?
KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM follows three best friends (Dinklage, Zahn, and Kwanten) and dedicated LARPers (Live Action Role Players) as they take to the woods to reenact a dungeons and dragons-like scenario fresh out of the Middle Ages. Trouble arises after they unwittingly conjure up some serious evil in the form of a blood-lusting Succubus from the pits of hell. And as fantasy and reality collide on the Fields of Evermore in an all-out epic battle of make-believe wizards, demons, and assorted mythical creatures, their courage and friendship are put to the test as they attempt to vanquish the evil they have summoned. Will the group prove to simply be foam sword-wielding LARPers or true "Knights of Badassdom?" Art thou ready to find out?
Co-starring Danny Pudi ("Community"), Maragrita Levieva ("Revenge," Adventureland), and Jimmi Simpson ("House of Cards," Date Night), the Blu-ray and DVD editions conjure up some magical extras including interviews with Peter Dinklage, Steve Zahn, and director Joe Lynch; a behind-the-scenes featurette, a Summer Glau: Hottie Montage, and the film's San Diego Comic-Con panel.

He doesn’t like to be disturbed and only comes out at night when he drags his strange, sinister sculptures deep into the woods. When Scott and Penny’s curiosity leads them too close for Mr. Jones’ comfort, he plunges the young couple into a nightmare world of mayhem, madness, and mind-bending terror.

There's no question that everyone who's starred in HBO's "True Detective" is gonna be getting quite the rub around Hollywood, and the first out of the gate is Erin Moriarty, who played Woody Harrelson's daughter on the incredible series.
Variety is reporting that Moriarty (pictured) has now landed the lead role in New Line’s Crawlspace. Phil Claydon will direct with The Conjuring’s Peter Safran producing along with Rick Alvarez.
The storyline follows a relocated family who moves into a new home where the previous inhabitants mysteriously were killed by a murderer living in the walls.
Gary Dauberman penned the script. Dave Neustadter and Walter Hamada will oversee for New Line.
Besides her role in “True Detective,” Moriarty has slowly begun building a resume with strong supporting roles in films like Kings of Summer and Fox’s The Watch. She can be seen next in Universal’s Ouija.
We first told you about the feature film adaptation of John Niven's Kill Your Friends during last year's AFM. Today the cast has filled out in the fullest of ways. Read on for all of the latest details.
According to THR, Craig Roberts (22 Jump Street), Tom Riley (TV's "Da Vinci’s Demons"), Georgia King (Austenland), James Corden (Tony Award winner, One Man, Two Guvnors), and Edward Hogg (Bunny and the Bull) have joined the cast for satirical comedy Kill Your Friends, starring Nicholas Hoult (pictured; Warm Bodies, X-Men: First Class).
The flick tells the story of an A&R man who, desperately searching for the next big hit, takes the concept of killer tunes to a murderous new level.
Directed by Owen Harris, the film is produced by Gregor Cameron (UNIGRAM), Will Clarke (Altitude Film Entertainment), and Len Blavatnik (AI Film andWarner Music Group).
Back in late January we got word that "Being Human's" Sam Witwer is guest starring on "Grimm" this season, and now we have the full synopsis of the episode in which he'll appear, #3.16, entitled "The Show Must Go On," airing on March 21st.
"Grimm" Episode 3.16 - "The Show Must Go On" (airs 3/21/14; 9-10PM)
A WESEN CARNIVAL COMES TO PORTLAND - A double homicide leads Nick (David Giuntoli) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) to a traveling carnival where the performers are not what they seem.
To get a better understanding of what’s going on behind the scenes, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) go undercover. On the wedding front, Monroe has a really important question for Nick.
In Austria an invaluable member of the Resistance makes the ultimate sacrifice to help Adalind (Claire Coffee). Bitsie Tulloch, Sasha Roiz, and Reggie Lee also star; Sam Witwer guest stars.
HBO's "True Detective" flirted with being a horror-themed show all season, and one can argue that that's exactly what it was. One thing is certain... last night's season finale would have even the most jaded of Texas Chain Saw Massacre fans drooling. Now, for Season 2, things may be getting a whole lot darker.
We know two things for sure about the show... each season will be a self-contained story, and Season 1 lead actors Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey won't return.
So what's next? During an interview with series creator Nic Pizzolatto, HitFix inquired about the direction next season will take.
"I realize I need to keep being strange. Don't play the next one straight," Pizzolatto said. "This is really early, but I'll tell you [it's about] hard women, bad men, and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system."
Pizzolatto also went on to say that his prose is typically "populated with rich female characters," so maybe we'll be getting female detectives who will act as "mirrors to reflect some aspect of Rust (McConaughey) or Marty (Harrelson)."
Stay tuned, kids!
One of the most talked about films from last year was Randy Moore's nightmarish Escape from Tomorrow (review), which was covertly filmed at Disney World. Next month you'll finally be able to see it for yourself. Read on for complete details!
From the Press Release
Featured in IndieWire’s top 5 first features of 2013, and called “a cult classic in the making” (Salon), Escape from Tomorrow comes to DVD and Blu-Ray April 29 from Cinedigm.
Unlike any film ever made, the most buzzed about debut at Sundance 2013 enraptured audiences with the fearless methods used by its writer/director Randy Moore along with its compelling take on childhood fantasy gone awry. Secretly shot at two world-famous theme parks, Escape from Tomorrow uses covert techniques that take guerrilla filming to another level, placing it amongst one of the most revolutionary films in history.
Celebrated by ScreenCrush as one of the best movies of the year and called a “sneakily subversive exercise in low-budget surrealism and anti-corporate satire” (Variety), Escape from Tomorrow takes place in a fantasyland of deliberately crafted childhood dreams. When family man Jim vacations with his wife and children, he is invaded by nightmares in the guise of princesses, happy theme park rides, and fellow tourists. With a backdrop familiar to all audiences as a setting where fairy tales become real, his world suddenly comes crashing down as these enchanting figures eerily turn into horrific characters threatening his very life.
Filled with “stunningly beautiful compositions made all the more impressive by the difficult circumstances of the shooting” (Los Angeles Times), Escape from Tomorrow on DVD features exclusive commentary, including one in which Jim recounts his adventure first-hand, along with a fascinating, must-see look at the making of the film.
The most provocative film from the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, Escape from Tomorrow should not exist, and yet it does. Like nothing you've ever seen, Randy Moore's directorial debut is a bold and ingenious trip into the happiest place on earth. An epic battle begins when a middle-aged American husband and father of two learns that he has lost his job. Keeping the news from his nagging wife and wound-up children, he packs up the family and embarks on a full day of park hopping amid enchanted castles and fairytale princesses.
Soon, the manufactured mirth of the fantasyland around him begins to haunt his subconscious. An idyllic family vacation quickly unravels into a surrealist nightmare of paranoid visions, bizarre encounters, and an obsessive pursuit of a pair of sexy teenage Parisians. Chillingly shot in black and white, Escape from Tomorrow dissects the mythology of artificial perfection while subversively attacking our culture's obsession with mass entertainment.

Sgt. Wu is one of the few characters on "Grimm" unaware that Wesen exist. This past Friday he got the shock of his life when his friend's unborn baby was almost eaten by one. Actor Reggie Lee sat down for a Q&A about where that leaves him now.
Q: What about Sergeant Wu's future? And will we find out more about Wu's personal life?
Reggie Lee: We're shooting Episode 19. You've seen 14, but he's a sharp guy and the writers are smart. So it's like there are little hints here and there that are kind of funny that you'll see.
And yes, this effect on me lingers. It'll linger for quite a bit. And it'll probably linger through the rest of the season. But he's a sharp guy, so there's some real wonderful moments here and there as we go through the season that he's like, "Hmmm. Hmmm. What are you doing here? Why are you spending so much time with this person? I have no idea why, but something - there's something here." So I just laugh at those moments in the script because I'm like, wow... for you guys that follow the show on a very close basis, it's going to be a treat. It's a treat to see these little moments that Wu has through the season. So yes, there will be more things.
Q: So in this episode it seems like Wu had a crush on the woman who's married, but obviously that's not going to work. So is there anything else maybe coming up for him? A different romantic interest or anything like that? And would you want that for him?
Reggie Lee: Of course I want that for him. Of course... people always ask me kind of like what I'd love to do in the future, and that's actually on my bucket list of things that I want to have in my career. You know, something on screen like that -- kind of a love interest in one way or another. I think that you may see it. I think again, we all have our lanes on the show. There's a certain lane that we're in, and I think that the balance of... for me at least... I think there needs to be a balance on the show of couples and people that are not coupled. Like people that know and people that don't know [about Nick].
So how they keep that balance, I don't know. You know, how they want to keep that balance, I don't know. I know they've said [they] like that he's a single guy. [They] like that. So there may be that, but it's got to be - it's inevitable, you know, for the future that something like that will happen. So we're hoping for it, but they do like that balance.
That's so vague, the answer that I just gave you… But it's something that I want. So depending on what - if they want to tip the scales, they will. And they're not afraid to; they're not afraid to. But I really enjoyed this episode… this back story of having feelings for this girl and seeing if I still have them, if I didn't have them… I loved it so much. I loved experiencing that again within the show.
Q: Obviously you can't say whether or not he is going to find out what's going on or how that's going to end, but can you just talk about if he does find out that there's this secret world of Wesen, how do you think that will affect him, change him, as a character?
Reggie Lee: The way… the way that it's affected me initially is because it's something that I had heard of before. So it's very different from anyone else's reaction because I think it's… certainly things that they hadn't heard about before, but they're seeing. This is - it's so incredibly -- in the Philippines -- realistic. I mean, you know, it's an island country so it's very… people don't have a lot to do so they get really, really entrenched in these stories and believe them.
So in the outcome that it has on me, I think it'll linger quite a bit before I start to kind of not want to or want to figure it out for myself. But the effect of it being humongous for me. I think that's going to have to subside before I decide one way or the other. And you'll be surprised I think at which person in the cast sways me to one way or the other because it's not one that you'd expect. And that's to come.
Q: This royal baby is now in the picture. How is that going to change the landscape for everyone involved?
Reggie Lee: It's going to be complete chaos... I think you can expect complete chaos to ensue. So it's been forthcoming this entire season. And people have been expecting it… and it's interesting because it's such a part of a world that I'm not privy to, but privy to only in that I read them in my scripts… the things that I've read have really been fantastic in terms of the way this baby is used to sway emotion in so many different people. And it'll hit probably almost every single cast member, this baby. So it's pretty great.
Q: Including Wu?
Reggie Lee: Possibly.
Q: How many more years, decades, would you like to see "Grimm" go?
Reggie Lee: Oh, boy… listen, I think that there's always kind of a certain season life to a show… well, there are shows like "Law & Order" that go on forever. I really think the show could go on for a long time. If you can get to Season 13 of a show… I think the show could go there… it would just be up to the showrunners to see if they would want it. There's things like "Lost," you know, that have a definite ending. You've got to end that show at some point. But with this show I think there's so many more creatures in Portland… so many more… that I think it could go on forever.
Our thanks to Reggie for his time, moderator Akiva Griffith, and everyone at NBC Universal Television.
