The time for teasing is over as the official full-length red band trailer for Hatchet III has arrived, and it's brimming with gooey red stuff, fire power, and everyone's favorite power tool-wielding swamp ghost! Check it out!

January 13, 2011. That was the date that Shane Black (writer of Lethal Weapon, Lethal Weapon 2, Monster Squad, The Last Boy Scout, Last Action Hero) was announced to direct a live action adaptation of the Japanese manga series Death Note. Since then nothing. Until now.

Recently Bleeding Cool caught up with Black to get an update. "Right now I’ve got this thing at Warner Bros. called Death Note that I like a lot. It’s a Japanese manga that’s very tense and really cool." Yeah, that's not exactly anything earth-shattering, but at least it means that they're still talking about it or Black wouldn't have brought it up.

Written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata, Death Note was originally published in Japan and later collected in 12 trade paperbacks that have sold more than 38 million copies worldwide. The protagonist, Light, is a bright student who stumbles across a mystical notebook that has the power to kill any person whose name he writes in it. Light decides to launch a secret crusade to rid the streets of criminals. Soon, the student-turned-vigilante finds himself pursued by a famous FBI criminal profiler known only by the alias L.

Death Note is wildly popular in Japan and has been turned into live action and animated films, an animated TV series, novels, and video games. The trio of live action films was distributed by Warner Bros. Japan. Warner Bros. acquired the manga rights from Shueisha and previously got a script draft from Charley and Vlas Parlapanides.

As we told you a few days ago, NBC decided not to air Episode 1.04 of "Hannibal," entitled "Oeuf," due to its controversial and violent content, opting instead to run a web-only, edited look at the ep. Here's the first installment - check back in a few hours for the rest.

This first video features an introduction from executive producer Bryan Fuller, who explains that "Oeuf" details the relationship between Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and Abigail Hobbs, played by Kacey Rohl. He says, “As the series goes on, this relationship gets much more complicated and becomes a load-bearing element of our storytelling. So we wanted to make sure that you have all the scenes to follow the story along.”

Synopsis
After the sudden disappearance of a local brother and sister, the town of Westlake is put under a curfew by local law enforcement. The annual fair is canceled, much to the annoyance of Killian and Crawford, two brothers attending Bayscout High. They decide to sneak into the woods that night to meet some local girls and shoot off some fireworks.

When their friends do not show up, the two brothers decide to paint the sky. When the fireworks illuminate a structure high up in the trees, they discover a treehouse. Inside it is Elizabeth, whom they recognize from local news reports as the missing sister. She is badly injured and unable to recall what has happened. All she is able to articulate is that "things" took her little brother. Crawford runs for help, while Killian waits with her. Crawford never returns.

What follows is a nightmare journey into hell as the “things” within the woods lay siege to the treehouse. It is only a matter of time before the treehouse – their sanctuary – eventually becomes their tomb. Elizabeth and Killian are forced to find a way out in order to survive and learn the fates of their brothers. Their escape ultimately leads them to a shocking revelation, culminating in a brutal finale with their attackers.

Game Synopsis

Dan Aykroyd is at it again. In a recent interview with ABC News, he revealed some small and inconsequential nuggets regarding Ghostbusters 3. Read on if you care.... in our case we're pretty numbed by it all at this point.

"I feel re-encouraged, reinvigorated by the pages that I have seen," said Aykroyd of the script, which is currently about halfway finished thanks to the tireless efforts of writer Etan Cohen. "I know that we're expecting half of the screenplay to be completed very soon. It should be into production by the fall and be shooting by the new year. I won't say anything; it's very exciting. The Higgs boson and the particle theories, gluons and mesons, that really gives us a scientific base in terms of our fictional storytelling, to open up to another dimension and have something horrible come through."

Back in March "Grimm" Episode 2.15, "Mr. Sandman," was home to what we called one of the best homages to The Fly we've ever seen, and apparently NBC agrees as they've released a new creature profile that focuses on the beast of the piece, the Jinnamuru Xunte, a hideous fly-like creature that feeds off its victims' tears.

What happens when you take the undead and unleash them in a Mad Max-like future wasteland? You get the new project from Steven C. Miller and Jeremy Lott called Terminus.

Bloody Disgusting got word that Miller and Lott are currently shopping the project, which has been described as “'The Walking Dead' meets Mad Max on crack with zombie cage fighting." This movie is the beginning of an action sci-fi franchise that shows how society continues after the zombie apocalypse.

The proposed budget will be less than $10 million, and Miller’s longtime manager Adam Goldworm is producing the film through Aperture Entertainment.

Look for more on this one as it comes. In the interim check out the pitch trailer below, which is home to several clips from other films as a means to convey the vibe that Terminus is shooting for.

Starz has opened up the promo floodgates for "Da Vinci's Demons," and we have a couple of behind-the-scenes videos (one with series creator David Goyer) as well as a sneak peek of Episode 1.03, "The Prisoner."

You know, Twitter has changed the world and the way that we interact within it. It has helped organize revolutions, report news, and now? Now it's led to a key role in the upcoming adaptation of James Dashner's The Maze Runner being cast.

Director Wes Ball just tweeted that Blake Cooper (pictured) got the pivotal role of Chuck in The Maze Runner. Cooper got Ball’s attention with a flurry of tweets to the director basically saying, “I’m your Chuck!” Ball finally connected the young actor with Fox’s casting director Denise Chamian, who allowed Cooper to send in a self-taped audition for the role. It got him the job. Seriously, how insane is that?

Cooper will join the previously announced Dylan O’Brien ("Teen Wolf"), Will Poulter, Kaya Scodelario, Aml Ameen, and Thomas Brodie-Sangster. Filming is set to begin in May in Baton Rouge for a February 14, 2014, release. Gotham Group will be producing The Maze Runner with 20th Century Fox. Noah Oppenheim and James Dashner (author of the novel) wrote the script.

When the lift’s doors open, Thomas finds himself surrounded by kids who welcome him to the Glade—a large, open expanse surrounded by stone walls. Just like Thomas, the Gladers don’t know why or how they got to the Glade. All they know is that every morning the stone doors to the maze that surrounds them have opened. Every night they’ve closed tight. And every 30 days a new boy has been delivered in the lift.

Thomas was expected. But the next day a girl is sent up—the first girl to ever arrive in the Glade. And more surprising yet is the message she delivers.

Not only does Lionsgate have a spiffy new logo, they've also got a new horror comedy in the works called You'll Be the Death of Me. Read on for your first details, and try not to crack any jokes about their direct-to-video movies having killed you already.

According to Deadline, Lionsgate/Summit has bought Mark Hammer’s slasher/comedy spec You’ll Be the Death of Me. The logline: Nothing can spoil falling in love in New York City, but a masked knife-wielding psychopath hellbent on keeping you single can certainly make falling in love more difficult.

Producing is Mandeville Films, who just generated the Lionsgate/Summit zom-com Warm Bodies, which grossed over $110 million worldwide.
