New Scary Movie 5 TV Spot Haunts the Internet

Mon, 03/25/2013 - 16:14

A new TV spot for Dimension's Scary Movie 5 made its way online today over at Fandango (not to be confused with the new Diva-like WWE grappler of the same name), and as per usual we have it here for you whether you want it or not.

Malcolm Lee directed Scary Movie 5 from a script penned by David Zucker. It stars Ashley Tisdale, Erica Ash, Heather Locklear, Terry Crews, Jerry O'Connell, Kate Walsh, and Jasmine Guy. The plot involves three dancers — one veteran performer and two upstarts who are also best friends — who vie for the lead in a new production from a snooty, aloof, imperious, and oversexed director. It spoofs Black Swan, Paranormal Activity, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, 127 Hours, and lots more.

Look for it in theatres on April 12th.

Synopsis
The latest installment of the SCARY MOVIE franchise includes send ups of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, MAMA, SINISTER, THE EVIL DEAD, INCEPTION, BLACK SWAN and pop culture featuring Ashley Tisdale, Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan, Snoop Dogg, Katt Williams, Molly Shannon, Terry Crews, Simon Rex, Jerry O'Connell, Sarah Hyland, Katrina Bowden, Tyler Posey, Shad Moss aka Bow Wow, Kate Walsh, Heather Locklear, Mac Miller and Mike Tyson.

SCARY MOVIE V is directed by Malcolm Lee, who teamed up and worked side by side with legendary comedy director David Zucker (AIRPLANE, THE NAKED GUN franchises). Zucker wrote and directed SCARY MOVIE 3 and 4 and also co-wrote and produced SCARY MOVIE V.

The SCARY MOVIE franchise, which lampoons the greatest in horror and genre fare, has grossed over $800 million worldwide.

Holliston Cast Thrills Another Convention with Live Reading in Preparation for Season 2 Premiering on June 4

Mon, 03/25/2013 - 16:03

Much like they did at Rock and Shock in Worcester, MA, back in October, the cast of "Holliston" performed a live reading at HorrorHound in Cincinnati to the delight of the packed house.

They call it "Holliston Live" and it involves the cast members performing a special episode live at the convention. And, as you can see from the standing ovation in the photo, convention fans love it! Adam Green’s response? "So crazy... So, so crazy."

Dig Joe Lynch's photo from the event (click on it for a better look) and get ready for "Holliston," Season 2 coming on June 4 on FEARnet.

From the Press Release
FEARnet will premiere the second season of the hit original sitcom "HOLLISTON" on Tuesday, June 4, at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT as part of its Twisted Comedy Block, it was announced by Peter Block, president and general manager of FEARnet. Season Two of the series—which was renewed for a second season after just two episodes had aired—is set for a 10-episode order, an increase of four episodes over Season One.

FEARnet is currently carried by a majority of the major U.S. cable operators and is in nearly 10 million homes and growing. To benefit those fans who are unable to experience the show on Tuesday nights, for the first time ever, each week’s episode will be streamed on FEARnet.com starting Thursday, June 6, and will be available for a seven-day period. Fans can also catch up on episodes on FEARnet On Demand every Wednesday after a new episode premieres.

"HOLLISTON"—created by celebrated genre filmmaker, Adam Green, who wrote and produced the upcoming HATCHET III, in theaters this June—stars Green and fellow real-life genre filmmaker Joe Lynch (KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM, WRONG TURN 2), as “Adam” and “Joe,” two aspiring horror filmmakers, dealing with the struggles of life, love, and career aspirations during the post-college period where nothing ever seems to work out like it should. With relatable storylines inspired by Green’s own life experiences that mash-up traditional situational comedy plot lines with popular horror genre-themes, "HOLLISTON" is the hip and edgy horror-fueled sitcom that FEARnet fans had been waiting for and have now embraced wholeheartedly.

The series also stars Laura Ortiz as Joe’s longtime girlfriend and adorably demented artist; Corri English as Adam’s confused and on-again/off-again childhood sweetheart; and heavy metal icons Dave Brockie as "Oderus Urungus," Adam’s twisted closet-dwelling imaginary friend and guardian angel, and Dee Snider as "Lance Rockett," the delusional wannabe rockstar who runs the local cable station where "Adam" and "Joe" work. Season Two is loaded with appearances from genre stars such as Bill Moseley (TEXAS CHAINSAW), Kane Hodder (HATCHET III), Sid Haig (THE LORDS OF SALEM), David Naughton (AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON), Danielle Harris (HALLOWEEN IV and V), Bailee Madison (DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK), and James Gunn (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY).

"'HOLLISTON' demonstrates not only the breadth of FEARnet’s programming, but also the broad reach of the horror culture. We surprised people by opting for a sitcom. Now, we’re going to surprise them with the places 'HOLLISTON' goes, as Season Two really celebrates the genre with episodes that mock, embrace, and twist the types of scary movies we love," said Block.

"We are thrilled with how quickly we’ve found an audience with this series and this cast," added Green. "'HOLLISTON' was designed to fill a missing gap in situational television comedies and speak directly to genre fans who can’t typically find these types of themes or comedic sensibilities in the average sitcom."

Following the events of the first season, Season Two ups the ante of outrageousness, taking the show to a wide range of unexpected places. Highlights include the series’ first animated episode, finding the town attacked by a giant blob; a Ringu-inspired J-horror episode; a found footage episode; and a one-hour season finale that will boast two special musical performances by the talented cast and a shocking final scene that will raise the dead. The second season will also feature some surprising twists and developments for the four main friends that will have a major impact on their lives and leave viewers anxious for more.

"HOLLISTON" is produced for FEARnet by Adam Green’s TV and film production company, ArieScope Pictures, in association with The Hacienda Film Co. and A Bigger Boat Productions. Joining Green and Lynch as executive producers are Cory Neal and Andrew Mysko, as well as producers Sarah Elbert, Will Barratt, and Sean Becker, who directed many of the episodes this season.

Future of Zombieland Series in YOUR Hands; First Official Still

Mon, 03/25/2013 - 15:04

Our friends over at Amazon Studios sent out an interesting press release regarding their upcoming pilot for the proposed "Zombieland" TV series along with your first look at the new (old) gang all together. Check 'em both out now.

From the Press Release
Amazon Studios, the original movie and series production arm of Amazon.com, announced it will add cult classic Zombieland to the line-up of pilots already in production for Prime Instant Video. Zombieland, which is the seventh comedy pilot added to Amazon’s pilot line-up, will be made available (along with the other six comedy pilots and six children’s pilots) for free on Amazon Instant Video and LOVEFiLM UK. Customers are invited to view the pilots and then review them on the site; customer feedback will help determine which of the 13 pilots Amazon Studios will make into full-season productions, to air on Prime Instant Video.

“Zombieland is a fan favorite and we can’t wait to see where this storyline goes in a serialized format,” said Roy Price, Director of Amazon Studios. “We’ve been announcing a lot of exciting exclusive content for Prime Instant Video, like Downton Abbey, Under the Dome, and Justified; and we think adding original shows to that lineup is going to make Prime even more enticing for customers.”

Zombieland is based on the hit Columbia Pictures movie of the same name and finds four survivors outwitting zombies and searching for a place to call home. The Zombieland pilot comes from the feature film’s original creative team, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, The Joe Schmo Show), and producer Gavin Polone (Gilmore Girls, Curb Your Enthusiasm). Eli Craig (Tucker and Dale vs. Evil) is directing the pilot.

The part of Tallahassee will be played by Kirk Ward (The Island), Maiara Walsh ("Desperate Housewives," "Switched at Birth") is cast as Wichita, Tyler Ross (Milkshake) will play Columbus, and Izabela Vidovic has the role of Little Rock.

“Zombieland will strive to break the rules—action, adventure, thrills, chills and laughs and all packed into a half hour format,” said creator Paul Wernick. “This is not your average show, but Amazon is not your average network.”

Amazon Studios, the original movie and series production arm of Amazon.com, has begun production on six comedy pilots, Alpha House, Browsers, Dark Minions, Onion News Empire, Supanatural and Those Who Can’t. Additionally, six children’s series are also currently in production, including Creative Galaxy, Oz Adventures, Teeny Tiny Dogs, Tumbleaf, Sara Solves It, and The Untitled J.J. Johnson Project.

Special Features Announced for Dark Sky's Manborg DVD Release

Mon, 03/25/2013 - 13:33

At the beginning of the month we learned that Dark Sky is releasing Manborg in select theatres and on DVD on April 30th, and now we have some additional info on what special features will be included on the disc.

Synopsis:
The forces of Hell have risen to the surface of the Earth to wreak unspeakable havoc on humanity, and it will take a real superhuman to save the world. Or at least Manborg - a spectacular creature of the future and the hero of MANBORG, the cult favorite sci-fi/fantasy homage coming to select theaters and DVD on April 30, 2013, from Dark Sky Films.

The armies of Hell have taken over the Earth, and all that stands in the way of the villainous Count Draculon and humanity's total extinction is a motley crew of misfits led by the mighty Manborg: a warrior who's half-man, half-machine but all hero.

Once a young soldier killed during the first war against Hell, Manborg (Matthew Kennedy, Lazer Ghosts 2) reawakens in the future, rebuilt as a walking weapon and mankind's last hope. Struggling to learn the secret of his origins, Manborg unwittingly befriends a post-apocalyptic Australian punker (Conor Sweeney, Heart of Karl), a knife-wielding vixen (Meredith Sweeney, Father's Day), and a kung fu master (dubbed by Kyle Herbert of DRAGON BALL Z, STREET FIGHTER) before finally squaring off against Count Draculon (Adam Brooks, Father's Day) in a desperate and bloody bid to take back the Earth.

This campy, comedic action flick, which Variety called "enjoyably ridiculous," is also an affectionate and clever tribute to fan favorite '80s films and video games like The Terminator, RoboCop, and Mortal Kombat.

MANBORG is a tour de force for writer-director-editor-makeup artist Steven Kostanski, whose credits include the horror hit Silent Hill and Guillermo del Toro's forthcoming sci-fi adventure Pacific Rim. This lo-fi sci-fi epic from infamous filmmaking collective Astron-6 (Father's Day) was met with an uproariously enthusiastic reception from audiences. Executive produced by TIFF Midnight Madness guru Colin Geddes (Ultra 8 Pictures) and Toronto After Dark's Peter Kupowsky, MANBORG celebrated its world premiere at Austin's 2011 Fantastic Fest and also impressed fans at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival and Fantasia. It has played more than 30 major film festivals worldwide including Whistler, Lund in Sweden, Boston Underground, U.K. Sci-Fi, and Neuchatel in Switzerland.

Special Features:
- Commentary w/ Director Steven Kostanski

Seven of the Most Deviously Frightful Doctors in Horror Films

Mon, 03/25/2013 - 10:15

Doctors. Aside from the medical field, they've excelled in so many areas. Literature… Dr. Seuss. Sports… Dr. J. Sugary beverages… Dr. Pepper. Successful doctors are everywhere. And they've certainly left their mark in - and on - the horror genre.

Without a doubt more than a few movie doctors have gone off the deep end, many of them with some pretty colorful results. We've seen our favorite doctors and scientists do all kinds of nasty things to their human victims. Most take bodies apart, but a couple of them even put things back together, most notably Dr. Frankenstein. Yes, there have been some great ones, like Dr. Anton Phibes, Dr. Jekyll and Dr. Giggles, but here are a few of our other favorites: Seven of the Most Deviously Frightful Doctors in Horror Films.

Mary Mason-American Mary
We may as well it kick off with the newest film on the list, and also the only female entrant. Mary Mason, or Bloody Mary as she's known to her patients, is the damaged title character in American Mary, the kick-ass sophomore effort by filmmakers Jen and Sylvia Soska. Brilliantly portrayed by Katharine Isabelle, Mary Mason is a med school student who suddenly finds herself a celebrity in the underground world of extreme body modification. Mary is a wonderfully unique creation surrounded by a backdrop of wildly colorful characters, making the film both thrilling and visually shocking.

Dr. Joseph Heiter-The Human Centipede: First Sequence
There's creepy, and then there's Dr. Heiter creepy. Dieter Laser's portrayal of the nefarious Dr. Heiter was an instant classic and (in addition to the film's shocking concept) helped turn The Human Centipede into the sensation it became. Heiter was obsessed with combining three humans with one gastroenterological tract and making what he referred to as a "Siamese Triplet," and we all know there's only one way to do that…and it ain't pretty. Apparently the three-dog was not enough to keep him entertained. Heiter was truly nuttier than squirrel poop and certainly deserves his place on this list of devious docs.

Herbert West-Re-Animator
Okay, technically West was also a med student like American Mary, but a lippy, know-it-all of a student he was. West was conceited, brash and smug, but I guess any of us would be a bit high on ourselves if we had discovered a way to bring dead tissue back to life. That whole uncontrolled hubris/god-complex tends to make humility a bit of a problem. Jeffrey Combs' portrayal of West helped to make Re-Animator the cornerstone of 80's horror that it went on to become. The film is brutal and bloody as hell but never takes itself too seriously, and the ongoing power struggle between Herbert West and the equally entertaining Dr. Carl Hill (played memorably by David Gale) makes for a fun story as the classic special effects come to life.

Dr. Paul Moreau-The Island of Dr. Moreau
Whether we're talking about the 1977 version of the film with Burt Lancaster as Moreau, the 1996 remake with Marlon Brando in the role or the 1931 classic (entitled The Island of Lost Souls) where Charles Laughton played the character, the bottom line is Dr. Moreau is a troubled individual. Based on the H.G. Wells novel, Dr. Moreau basically created an island community for himself surrounded by manimals, part-human/part-animal (that probably didn't need any additional explanation) beasts he constructed in his lab through vivisection experiments. Moreau rules over the beasts with a set of rules, the most important being that the monstrosities are not to kill, but when one thing leads to another and humans start killing other humans, it comes time for everyone to visit the house of pain…and we're not talking about the fun "Jump Around" House of Pain either.

Dr. Jonathan Crane-Batman Begins
It's not often that we get to work in a Batman villain on one of our lists, but if Dr. Jonathan Crane, aka The Scarecrow, doesn't belong here, no super-villain does. Dr. Crane is hellbent on terrorizing his victims with drug-induced hallucinations. Played in Batman Begins by Cillian Murphy (who was cast as Dr. Crane after not getting the role of Bruce Wayne, which he initially auditioned for), The Scarecrow is contaminating Gotham City's water with a fear-inducing toxin that will allow him to control the people of the city. And speaking of Gotham, why the hell would anyone live there?! If it's not Dr. Crane's fear-inducing toxin, it's The Joker and his Smilex. Honestly, how cheap is the real estate in this city?

Dr. Seth Brundle-The Fly
In one of the most beloved horror remakes ever, Jeff Goldblum plays Dr. Seth Brundle. He's a scientist obsessed with the concept of transporting matter through the air, a process that involves breaking down the subject to a molecular level in one pod, transporting it and reassembling it at its eventual destination. Unfortunately, when a fly (literally) got into the ointment and was broken down together with the test subject, the technology didn't really understand how to put them back together separately, and Dr. Brundle melded with the insect and eventually became the awesome "Brundlefly," a hybrid of the two which started out as much more doctor than fly and ended up quite the opposite. Not surprisingly, as one's body turns into a giant fly, it becomes increasingly difficult to hold it together mentally as well, and the Brundlefly turns into a real pain in the ass for everyone around him.

Dr. Hannibal Lecter-The Silence of the Lambs
16 Minutes! Anthony Hopkins was on the screen in The Silence of the Lambs for a grand total of 16 minutes. We've mentioned that fact here before, but it always merits another shout. Hopkins iconized Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Lecter is incredibly dangerous, not because of any physical trait, but because he is so intelligent that he is several steps ahead of everyone around him at all times, and just when you think you have him caged, he's free again, blending into another crowd and disappearing right in plain sight. Dr. Lecter is a viper, always coiled and prepared to strike. And we watch him with devilish anticipation, awaiting his next move. He is the embodiment of creepy evil.

UK Film Fest News: BIFF 2013 Announces Bradford After Dark Lineup

Mon, 03/25/2013 - 03:30

Running this April 11th-21st in conjunction with Virgin Media, the 19th Bradford International Film Festival has announced a rather impressive lineup of genre offerings to populate their "Bradford After Dark" programme. Check it out right here!

From the Press Release:
Bradford After Dark, the festival's home of the creepy, the bizarre and the fantastic, returns to BIFF with a handpicked selection of horrifying delights to keep you awake at night. Each of this year's After Dark films (selected by programmer Robert Nevitt) has something slightly different to offer those who seek out the darker side of cinema.

With treats including several unhealthy doses of satanic panic, an alphabetised guidebook of doom and a film best described as a waking nightmare, this year's selection embodies the best of contemporary genre cinema: brave, courageous filmmaking from some of the world's hottest genre talents.

Complete information on BIFF as a whole can be found on theofficial Bradford International Film Festival website, alongside ticket and pricing details. Also be sure to "like" BIFF on Facebook.

Screening this year are:

LA MEMORIA DEL MUERTO (MEMORY OF THE DEAD) (UK PREMIERE) + DYSMORPHIA
Friday 12 April, 8.15pm, IMAX and Friday 19 April, 10.45pm Cubby Broccoli Cinema

Following the premature death of her husband, Jorge, grieving widow Alicia gathers their circle of close friends to her home for the reading of a letter written by the deceased. Unbeknownst to the group, Alicia has an altogether different motive for bringing them together: namely, to use each of them as a sacrifice to bring Jorge back. Unfortunately no one ever said that resurrection would be easy… As the clock strikes 12, the house becomes surrounded by fog and the group are faced with ghosts from their respective pasts intent on exacting bloody revenge. From its surreal and gruesome opening right through to its blood-drenched climax, this visually arresting and highly ambitious shocker from Argentina combines the wit and gusto of vintage Sam Raimi with the stylistic tropes of the Italian giallo to create a strikingly original piece of cinema.

RESOLUTION + THE WHITE LADY
Friday 19 April, 8.15pm Cubby Broccoli Cinema

A trailblazing hit from the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival, Resolution is a genre-bending gem that will restore your faith in American indie horror. After receiving a video of his best friend Chris strung out on drugs in a cabin in the middle of nowhere, well-meaning everyman Michael decides an intervention is needed and embarks on a trip to help his friend. When Chris refuses to quit, Michael handcuffs him to a pipe in the cabin and forces him to go cold turkey. Things begin to go very wrong, however, when it transpires that Chris never sent him the video in the first place and a strange catalogue of events begins to unfold. As a bizarre menagerie of characters intersect with them, Chris and Michael attempt to decipher who or what is attempting to manipulate them before it’s too late. A fascinating Lynchian nightmare that you absolutely should not miss.

THE RAMBLER (UK PREMIERE) + THE APOCALYPSE
Friday 19 April, 10.45pm Pictureville Cinema and Saturday 10 April, 10.45pm Cubby Broccoli Cinema

After being released from prison, a solitary figure known only as The Rambler embarks upon a cross-country journey to reconnect with his estranged brother. As he negotiates his way along treacherous routes through remote backwater towns, he encounters a procession of strange characters; from an eccentric inventor who carries a machine he claims can record dreams onto VHS tape to a mysterious young woman whose journey overlaps and intersects with his. What begins as a story steeped in the American pulp tradition soon segues into a nightmarish travelogue through the darker recesses of the American heartland as one man attempts to take control of his life while surrounded by chaos on all sides. With rich cinematography and an immersive soundtrack, The Rambler is a feverish, hallucinatory road movie that combines a dreamy, hypnotic tone with sudden bursts of bloody violence and dark humour to create a midnight movie for the modern age.

THE LORDS OF SALEM + YELLOW
Saturday 20 April, 8.15pm Pictureville Cinema

Hard rock radio DJ Heidi (Sheri Moon Zombie) spends her time interviewing heavy metal bands and supposed experts on the supernatural and the occult, maintaining a skeptical stance along with her co-host (played by Dawn of the Dead’s Ken Foree.) When the station receives a wooden box containing a vinyl record credited to “The Lords”, she thinks nothing of playing it on her show, but the sinister recording sends Heidi into a haze of nightmares and hallucinations as the spirits of a coven of ancient witches are awakened to seek their bloody vengeance on the small town of Salem, Massachusetts. With a cast of bona fide icons of cult cinema (including E.T. and The Howling’s Dee Wallace and Patricia Quinn – Magenta from The Rocky Horror Picture Show) and a permeating sense of dread akin to Rosemary’s Baby, The Lords of Salem represents the startling return of one of modern horror’s most divisive directors.

THE ABCs OF DEATH + THE 3 Rs
Saturday 20 April, 10.45pm Pictureville Cinema

Twenty-six directors. Twenty-six ways to die. The recent renaissance of the horror anthology continues with The ABCs of Death, a gruesome assault on the senses that leaves no blood-splattered stone unturned in the exploration of our fragile mortality. Bringing together an impressive roster of horror directors from across the globe - all of whom were given a letter of the alphabet, a $5000 budget and carte blanche to create their own vision inspired by death in one of its myriad forms – The ABCs of Death is not only a thrilling rollercoaster ride through virtually every form of grim demise you could dream of, but also a unique snapshot of the contemporary horror genre and the diverse directorial voices that work within it, including Ben Wheatley (Kill List, Sightseers), Ti West (The Innkeepers), and Srdjan Spasojevic (director of the infamous A Serbian Film).
NOTE: Directors Lee Hardcastle (T is for Toilet) and Simon Rumley (P is for Pressure) will attend the screening.

The Walking Dead: Recap of Episode 3.15 - This Sorrowful Life

Sun, 03/24/2013 - 22:13

Now that Andrea has been captured and both sides are gearing up for war, we can only guess who the casualties will be as no one is ever safe on this show, especially at the end of the season.

This penultimate episode, "This Sorrowful Life," was written by Scott Gimple and directed by Greg Nicotero.

SPOILER ALERT: Do not read any further if you haven’t watched the episode yet. This is a recap with specific details from this episode. Continue only if you have already watched it.

Rick, Daryl and Hershel conferred outside on a plan to avoid fighting which Rick alone would implement. Inside, Rick confronted Merle about the plan to give up Michonne and Merle explained what the Governor would do to her, calling Rick cold-blooded. Even Merle, knowing his own sociopathic leanings, didn't think Rick would go through with that plan.

The group laid some obstacles outside the prison compound to block potential attacks. Michonne pointed out that they only had to make Woodbury's approach too much of a hassle.

Inside, Carol asked Merle if he was on their side but Merle was only there for his brother. Bemused, Merle was impressed by Carol's newfound confidence.

Daryl tried to apologize to Glenn for Merle but Glenn would not accept. When Merle confronted Daryl about being a follower, Daryl turned it around about what Merle did to Maggie and Glenn and Merle did not deny his actions. Merle even brought up a good point about how the group was starting to act like the bad guy by giving up Michonne. When Daryl left, Merle packed a telephone in his weapons bag. Curiouser and curiouser.

As Hershel read a bible passage to Maggie and Beth, Rick started to Lori-cinate again outside. When Rick returned inside, he told Hershel that he had changed his mind.

Exploring some prison hallways together, Michonne and Merle dispatched of some oncoming walkers. While Michonne was distracted, Merle knocked her unconscious and bound her up.

Walking her to Woodbury, Merle explained to Michonne what Rick had planned. Merle was there to do the dirty work. Coming across a single walker, Merle happily used Michonne's sword for a clean decapitation.

When Rick couldn't find Merle nor Michonne, Daryl learned that they had left. Daryl went off alone to track them while Rick stayed to prepare for war.

All Merle wanted was to be with Daryl but he lamented that Daryl wanted to remain with the prison. Merle thought that this plan might keep the prison safe but Michonne was doubtful. Did Merle just crack a joke about his one hand?

Michonne also doubted that Merle was truly evil because he sounded remorseful. Michonne stated that truly evil people would not feel remorse, but Merle countered with his sixteen kills, though with a little regret.

Glenn confessed to Hershel that he finally understood the meaning of Hershel's stopwatch gift. Glenn asked Hershel for his blessing to marry Maggie and promptly received it.

Coming across an abandoned motel (hopefully not occupied by the Bates family), Merle hotwired a car successfully but not before setting off a loud alarm, attracting a horde of walkers. While Merle still worked to turn off the alarm, a couple of walkers attacked a tied-up Michonne, but they did not stand a chance against her. One even dared to attack Merle, who quickly stabbed it with his knife hand-attachment. When Michonne got grabbed by a walker, Merle shot it down and cut off the cable tying her to the building and they drove off. As if the walkers ever had a chance at both Merle and Michonne!

On this road trip, Michonne accused Merle of being the trashman for both the Governor and Rick. Michonne discovered that Rick did not ask Merle to capture her. She even exclaimed that Daryl identified more with the prison group than with his own brother, Merle. Merle countered with Rick betraying her. They both seemed to have bonded over being outsiders.

Glenn found a lady walker and cut off her finger. No doubt for a ring. Definitely not a trip to Tiffany's!

So Merle hadn't killed anyone before the zombie apocalypse or even before he joined Woodbury. Michonne asked why Merle would kill for the Governor before suggesting they could just return to the prison. Merle insisted that he could not. He stopped the car and cut off Michonne's bindings. Merle let Michonne out with her katana to return alone. Merle had to something he had to do.

Daryl came across Michonne in the middle of killing a walker and learned what happened. Daryl ran off looking for Merle on his own.

Merle was enjoying his booze with loud music in his car, attracting a horde of walkers. Moving the car slowly, they followed him. Merle rolled the car into the grain silo which was the site of the peace treaty meeting, while the horde approached it. He hid nearby while the loud noise attracted the attention of the Woodbury henchmen. Rushing towards the horde, the henchmen tried to take them out while being sniped out by Merle in hiding. When Merle had the Governor in his sight, he got distracted by a walker. Fighting his, Merle was discovered and attacked by the henchmen. The Governor took over the beating and even administered a gruesome finger bite. After subduing Merle, the Governor shot him.

Glenn found Maggie and proposed kinda unromantically but she didn't care and accepted. It was a sweet, quiet moment we knew wouldn't last long.

Rick confessed to the group that he had planned to give Michonne up to the Governor. While he had changed his mind, Merle had enacted the plan. He apologized to the group for keeping them in the dark. He also apologized for his Rick-tatorship and said that they should be a democracy together. Leaving the group after his speech, he spotted a very much alive Michonne making her way back and was relieved.

Daryl found the meeting place littered with dead bodies and feeding walkers. He found a turned Merle and broke down. When walker Merle came at him, all Daryl could do was to put him down. If you didn't tear up during this scene, you're as dead as those walkers.

Was this Merle's redemption? Will Michonne forgive Rick for what he did? Will Andrea survive next week's season finale? Stay tuned!

Synopsis:
Ever since Alfred Hitchcock created Psycho in 1960, the story of a weapon-wielding madman - stalking and slaughtering helpless victims - has become a fixture of fear flicks and bludgeoned bombastic box office takings worldwide. Slice & Dice: The Slasher Film Forever takes an often irreverent look at this much-maligned, and frequently misunderstood, genre with commentary from some of the form's most celebrated filmmakers. Cutting an immediate presence on the screen, this delirious documentary delves into the history of hack 'em up cinema, investigates the rules of this teen-trepanning terror trend and even gives some pointers into how to survive a stint in the genre.

Frequently funny, delightfully disgusting and always engaging, Slice & Dice: The Slasher Film Forever is ideal viewing for anyone who has found themselves gnawing on their fingernails during a chance viewing of Black Christmas, Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street or Scream.
