Akira Yamaoka To Perform With The 'Silent Hill Band' In San Antonio This July

bloody disgusting - Mon, 02/24/2014 - 10:28

Attendants of San Antonio’s San Japan convention, which is dedicated to Japanese culture and anime, will be receiving an amazing experience as it has been confirmed that the Silent Hill band, which is comprised of composer Akira Yamaoka, vocalist Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, drummer Joe Romersa, and bassist Troy baker, will be performing a concert! The convention takes place July 18 – 20, 2014.

San Japan Chairman Dave Henkin states, “We are quite excited to be able to bring out the infamous video game music composer to Texas. Fans of Silent Hill are in for a treat to what will be a once-in-a-lifetime concert in Texas.

Baker is widely known to gamers for his roles in Bioshock: Infinite, The Last Of Us, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and more. McGlynn is known for her role as Major Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell.

If you’re going to this festival, I am insanely jealous of you. Seriously, it hurts my soul that I most likely will not be able to attend.

6 WTF Moments In 'Resident Evil'!

bloody disgusting - Mon, 02/24/2014 - 10:00

With the ultimate edition of Resident Evil 4 slated to arrive later this week, I thought this would be a swell time to take a look back at some of the stranger moments the series has offered us so far.

Obviously, a list that’s only six-long puts nary a dent in the weirdness and hilarity — some intentional, most of it not — that Capcom’s flagship survival horror-turned-action horror-turned-full-on action franchise has gifted us with over the years. These are just a few of my favorites, I’ll leave it to you to fill in the gaps with your own picks.

After the break you’ll find my list of just a few of the most WTF moments from Resident Evil!

Live-Action Cut-Scenes (Resident Evil)

Yowza. I’m not sure who was put in charge of the casting for those deliciously cheesy live-action cut-scenes that graced the original Resident Evil, but my theory is they had close ties to community theater. They’re awkward, hilarious, ridiculous, and unforgettable, but I wouldn’t change them for the world. Thankfully, Capcom didn’t bring them back for the sequel.

Tofu Survivor (Resident Evil 2)

A parody of “The 4th Survivor” mini-game, Tofu Survivor is a bonus mode in Resident Evil 2 that pits you in the coagulating soy milk boots of a block of tofu, because, well… Japan.

If you’re unfamiliar with it, that’s probably because of how difficult this mode is to unlock. It’s made available only after all six of the game’s scenarios have been completed with A rankings, and even if you possess the skills to make it that far, only the best of the best will be able to complete it. For some reason, the Tofu is armed with a single combat knife and a handful of herbs. Thankfully, tofu is well known for its natural resistance to damage, so it can take a few more hits before going down.

Oh, and it totally curses in Japanese when hit.

The Merchant Can Be Killed (Resident Evil 4)

Oh Merchant, how I miss your gruff voice, bizarre cockney accent, and impressive ability to be one step ahead of Leon throughout the entirety of Resident Evil 4. You sold me a wealth of goods, and I really do feel bad about that time I shot you in the face with the gun I bought from your dirty trench coat a few seconds earlier just so I could feel something to see if you could die.

Anyone who played through Resident Evil 4 eventually gave in to their curiosity and implanted a bullet right between those big, beautiful blue eyes. The more decent amongst us were undoubtedly struck by a pang of regret, which was quickly followed up by a wave of panic when your mind formed this question: Will he come back? Who else is going to arm you with the Tommy Guns, Infinite Rocket Launchers, and all the other miscellaneous goods you’ll need to rid this world of its rampant Ganado infestation?

There are a lot of things to be scared of in that game, but I believe the Merchant, with his pseudo-immortality and gradual transformation into something… else was the real threat. He guided us, gave us the tools to vanquish everything that stood in our way, and then he vanished. I feel like there’s an etching on a cave wall that foretells his eventual return and the 1,000 years of darkness that will follow.

But that’s just a theory.

The Undead Squeeze Out New Trailer for Indie, 'Stalled'

bloody disgusting - Mon, 02/24/2014 - 09:20

Described as Evil Dead meets Phone Booth comes Stalled, a new Zomedy from Freak Out! director Christian James and actor Dan Palmer.

Stalled, already on VOD, is now available on both DVD and Blu-ray. It is celebrated with the brand new trailer shared below.

It’s Christmas Eve and a soon to be shit-canned maintenance gopher (Dan Palmer) is changing light bulbs and cleaning toilets instead of drinking egg-nog and making out with drunk receptionists at the annual office party. Unfortunately for this forlorn floor-sweeper he chooses to use the LADIES’ RESTROOM the very second a ZOMBIE OUTBREAK occurs! Will he bowl us over and flush away the undead or (like in his pre-apocalypse life) simply remain …’STALLED’?

This British horror/comedy is Directed by Christian James, Produced by Richard James Kerrigan and Written by Dan Palmer. It stars Palmer (Freak Out), Tamaryn Payne (Hollyoaks), Antonia Bernath (Elvis, St.Trinians), Mark Holden (Final Destination, X-Files), Victoria Broom (Dead Cert), Giles Alderson (Damned Utd, Harsh Light Of Day) and Chris R. Wright (Faintheart, Small Town Folk).

Someone Got the Most Convincing Footage Of A Ghost I've Ever Seen!

bloody disgusting - Sun, 02/23/2014 - 21:38

Something that we don’t talk about often on Bloody-Disgusting are videos or images that purportedly show a ghost in real life. Why? Because it’s so hard to prove anything. Often times we get excited only to have the rug torn out from under us as the images are debunked, the curtain pulled back to reveal the proverbial wizard.

But this is different. This is real. This is undeniable. Below are four .GIFs that show a ghost and there is no way that it can be false. I dare anyone of you to tell me that this is fake. I DOUBLE dare you!

Dread Central - Sun, 02/23/2014 - 18:58

No. Your eyes do not deceive you. There's already another edition of Dinner for Fiends. This is part of our effort to do them a bit shorter in length and on a more frequent basis. • Religion
  • Carcosa
  • Andrew planting his seed
  • Carcosa

NBC’s DC Comics adaptation “Constantine” has found its leading man as THR writes that “Criminal Minds” alum Matt Ryan is near a deal to star in the drama based on the “Hellblazer” graphic novels.

‘Constantine’ centers on master of the occult John Constantine, who struggles with his faith as he is haunted by the sins of his past and is suddenly thrust into the role of defending humanity from the gathering forces of darkness.

John is described as a working-class Londoner with deadpan humor who is a mysterious conman and occult detective

He’s taught himself spells, rituals, curses and conjuring, but the one person he most wishes to see — his mother, who died giving birth to him — remains out of reach, at least so far. When Liv, the daughter of a late friend, is targeted by demons, Constantine steps in to save her and the two form an alliance.

“Dexter’s” Daniel Cerone will pen the script with Batman Begins‘ David Goyer attached to executive produce. Neill Marshall (“Game of Thrones”, Dog Soldiers, Doomsday) will direct the pilot for the Warner Bros. Television drama.

    Dread Central - Sat, 02/22/2014 - 12:00

The lead role in NBC's "Constantine" reboot appears to have been found as reports are coming in that Matt Ryan (Armistice, "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior," "The Tudors") is finalizing an agreement with the network and Warner Bros. TV.
